About Us

HTQ Foundation (Yayasan Halaqah Tadarus Al-Qur’an) is a non-profit Islamic organization dedicated to applying the Qur’an as a source of practical solutions for modern life. We focus on research, education, and counseling, to help individuals, families, and communities grow through Qur’anic guidance. Our mission is to ground Qur'anic knowledge in real-world contexts: from solving various daily problems to developing character, strengthening spirituality, and shaping future generations to be balanced, impactful, and aligned with divine purpose.

Our Story

The foundation began as a response to the challenges of today’s world; rising divorce rates, mental health struggles, and the disconnection of youth from faith and values. Our founder, Ziyad Ulhaq, devoted his life to the Qur’an, completing 30 Juz of memorization and pursuing academic expertise up to doctoral level in Qur’anic Studies. Witnessing how conventional approaches often fell short in solving human problems, he learned and developed a new way of reading the Qur’an, through its structural wisdom, to unlock solutions for psychological, biological, spiritual, and social issues.

From this vision, HTQ Foundation was born. We integrate three focus areas: Qur’anic studies and Islamic knowledge, education through Abjad Academy (a modern Qur’an-based school), and social services such as counseling, HR development, and community waqf projects. With this holistic approach, HTQ Foundation aspires to cultivate individuals who are not only academically capable but also spiritually strong, emotionally intelligent, and socially responsible, ready to contribute to the ummah and humanity on a global scale.

Our Founder

Ziyad Ulhaq, SQ, MA, Ph.D

Ziyad Ulhaq has devoted his life to unlocking the practical wisdom of the Qur’an. Beginning with memorizing 30 juz at a young age, his journey took him through some of the world’s leading Islamic institutions, from LIPIA Jakarta to the International Islamic University Malaysia, culminating in a doctorate in Qur’anic and Tafsir Studies.

Driven by a deep concern for the struggles of modern society, Ziyad learned and developed the Qur’anic Structure Theory, a comprehensive framework that connects the structural patterns of the Qur’an with human psychology, biology and Qur'anic exegesis. His work bridges classical Qur’anic scholarship with modern scientific thought, offering fresh perspectives on education, family life, and personal development.

Over the past two decades, Ziyad has guided thousands of learners, students, scholars, and professionals through structured Qur’an-based programs. Through HTQ Foundation, he continues his mission to make the Qur’an a living guide for people, families, and institutions seeking balance, clarity, and purpose in an age of confusion.
